I’ve been doing a lot of code kata over the past few weeks. And, I’ve been wanting to try a screencast for a while now.
Why not do both at once?
So here’s my first attempt at a screencast of the FizzBuzz kata.
FizzBuzz is a simple counting game. Players take turns counting the next number. The trick is when the number is divisible by 3, you say “fizz” instead of the number. If it’s divisible by 5 you say “buzz”. If it’s divisible by both 3 and 5 you say “fizz-buzz”.
So the game would proceed: 1, 2, fizz, 4, buzz, fizz, 7, 8, fizz, buzz, 11, fizz, 13, 14, fizz-buzz, 16, 17, fizz… and so on.
The coding challenge is: given the number you’re counting, the program must return the correct response.
There are others who have done this and recorded it, so it’s nothing earth-shattering here. Just a bit of geek diversion.
